not sure if i was divorced
was married to a man that when the marraige was over he told me we were divorced in reno i have never seen any papers. he married again and so did i... that ended in divorce as well now i am not sure that i was ever divorced from the first man. as i ask to see papers from first divorce and he said he never got any. how can i find out? can i divorce him now or what do i have to do to make sure that we are

I think that your first step would be to contact the clerk of court in Reno Nevada and find out if anything was ever on file under your name or his. Then, it might be a good idea to do a public record search such as those offered by Intelius at http://find.intelius.com/
This may turn up enough information to meet your purposes. If there is no record of an ex parte divorce on file, you need to assume that the first marriage is still valid, he never really divorced you, and you'll need to file an action to fix it.
