Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

I was in a domestic violent relationship with my daughters mother. We resided in Iowa for 2 1/2 years. 9 months ago I left, after a violent episode, to California with my daughter. I obtained a Restraining order in California court. Mother is now filing for custody of my daughter and I was just ordered to return to IA for a hearing. What are my odds that I will be able to stay in California with my supportive family?

That's difficult to judge. An ex parte restraining order from a foreign court will not carry much weight. On the other hand I suggest you retain a local attorney to examine your options and obligations.
