Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa
Emancipation at age 17
As being planned, I am set to graduate early this year as a Junior. I will have three credits more than I need and to be honest am having troubles at home. I would like to get out of the house and off to college. My question is how possible would it be for me to be emancipated so that I could get in-state tuition for Colorado (I currently live in Iowa)?
What I have been told so far is: I would have to be able to prove to a judge that I could support myself; I would have to live in-state, paying taxes, etc. as a resident of Colorado, for a year, to be concidered in-state.

Re: Emancipation at age 17
You simply have to wait until you're 18.
