Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

emancipation

my dad is divorcing my step mom and i dont want to live with my dad i mentally and emotionally cant do it. he isnt good to me. he has a drinking problem, and a very bad anger issue. he has physically and mentally abused me before and still emotionally abuses me. i never feel good about myself and i want to be a normal teen. if i live with him by myself, who can say he wont hit me again, hes a mean person and the way he makes me feel is hard to deal with. i cant live with my mom either, its a bad environment and i just want to stay in the school im in and want to keep my job. im happy with my school and job and dont want to change my whole life again just so he can make me miserable. this is his 3rd divorce i just wish i could do some kind of independant living. i only have 2 years of school left. im tired of all of his threats. i need help.

I'm not sure that there's a legal question I can answer. Emancipation of minors is rarely granted and almost never on a basis that they don't like their parents.
