Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

Ending Child support

I am wondering when my support should end. My court document says something like ''.. on 18th birthday or emancipated.'' Does this mean it can stop when she turns 18? Or when she graduates high school? Or when she leaves her mothers home? What if she stays with her mother after turning 18 and has graduated? There is nothing stated in the court document about continuing support if she goes on to college. Do I need to worry about that?

Re: Ending Child support

I think that you need to have an attorney arefully review your support order and tell you what the implications of it are with respect to the end of your support obligation.
