Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa
My soon ex-wife was ordered to pay a mortgage on a property we own in Feb, however she is not paying it. I paid at the end of March for both Feb & March, to avoid affecting my credit more and will probably pay Aprils tomorrow. I have been told that in order to file contempt charges she would have to have not paid for 3 months or so. Is that true? If so, can I do anything else? I've been told what I have already paid will be considered a gift?

I think you ought to bring this to the attention of the attorney that represented you.
