Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

Family Law

I reported my step-father for doing something to my younger sister, and what he did was wrong. The Child Protective Services case worker asked if I would take her until 1 week later when they will interview her and my step-father is to have no contact with her. And my mother can only visit her if I am right there. My question is what are the laws on her getting emancipated and would I need to adopt her. She is 15. We could afford her to stay here but money would be tight. I also am wondering if she is staying here and we are supporting her. And she is not emancipated but we are to take care of her, is there any means of getting help with food, bills, etc.?

Re: Family Law

There is no law about getting a 15 year old emancipated. You're getting way ahead of yourself. If there is a CINA proceeding you may be able to gain legal custody
