Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

I am the father of a ten year old girl that I have been paying child support for. I have tried to see her a couple times that resulted in violence on the step fathers part. I have once again tried to make contact, through my ex. She asked me instead to sign away my parental rights. This could be a option if it truly is best for my daughter, but I do not know what forms I need to submit to the court. Or if it can even be done that easy.

You don't get to sign away your parental rights. They can adopt the child.
