Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

fathers rights

my son was born on January 4th, 07. I had contacted the father to tell him that I had had him several days after that. He is denying that he is his and we are going through establishing paternity. I have offered several times to let him see our son and he will not. If it is his, the father has stated that he wants to get 1/2 custody. My son was 8 weeks premature and has some special ennds so therefore I do not feel comfortable leaving him alone with ''strangers'' which is what his father would be. I have stated that he could have supervised visitation but he says that he does not want to see me. How should I go about this situation?

Re: fathers rights

Until there is a custody order, the alleged father does not have any rights to visitation or anything else so you don't have to do anything at all.
