I need to file a modification of my divorce decree but have been unsuccessful in getting attorneys to return my phone call. Is it possble that they are put off that I live i another state and am unable to travel there to appear in court?

Well, you'll have to appear in court in most cases but you can appear by telephone if the parties are willing. An uncontested modification is a relatively simple matter but if it's likely to be contested you could expect to put up a fairly good sized retainer to get anyone's attention. Even at my ridiculously cheap rates you could burn through a couple thousand dollars pretty quickly.
