Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa
Forma Pauperis
I plan to represent myself ''Pro Se'' in filing for joint custody in Pottawatomie County, Iowa. There is a $100 court fee to start the process. So I also plan to file a petition in ''forma pauperis'' to remove my court fees, especially the initial fee, if I qualify. The sample form I have found online has a ''Petitioner'' and ''Respondent'' section, and ''case number'' that I won't have until after I file for custody. So do I file the in ''forma pauperis'' petition before I file the petition for joint custody or at the same time? Thank you.

Re: Forma Pauperis
I'd file them both at the same time-but be prepared to cough up the $100 if they deny it.
