Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa
A friend of mine recently had a baby, while she was pregnant the father died. She asked the funeral home to save some of his hair to establish paternity via DNA for when the child was born. Unfortunately they cut his hair, they did not pluck it with the root intact. The body was creamated, and he was adopted from S Korea in a closed adoption. My friend is a single mom going to school and could really use the social security that is owed to her child but doesn't know what else she can do without any DNA to prove he is indeed the father. She contacted the adoption agency and they just gave her the run around. Is there anything else she can do??

She should hire an attorney to investigate this and see whether there is anything to be done.
