Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa
Hello,
My husband just received information from child support recovery that the state is mandating he carry the health insurance for his daughter because it is at reasonable cost. In 2000 (his divorce decree) and 2007 it was ordered that his ex-wife carry the insurance. I spoke to CSRU and they said that the state of Iowa supersedes a divorce decree. Is that true? It's not that he's unwilling to carry her on it..it's just the principal. Thanks!

Without knowing what the contents of the custody and support order are and the exact wording I couldn't offer an opinion-although if it is as you say I'd hire an attorney to get to the bottom of it.
