who gets house in divorce

man did nothing wrong. wife wants out of marriage. no kids at home. mortgage is 1/4 of value. will wife always get house? or does man have a shot at keeping it, of course after paying spouse 1/2 of equity?

If there are no kids it's a matter of one party buying out the other.
