Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa
I'am behind on child support and I have three children. I have an order for my daughter in Iowa that is $60 a month and a order for my two boys that is $290 a month plus $550 for arrearages. When I first started my job a month ago they were taking exactly 50 percent of my paycheck. My paycheck is $930 every two weeks. Last deduction was 50% of my paycheck. The current paycheck deduction was 60%. I was left with $265 to pay all of my living exspenses. It's not enough. Please let me know if it is illegal to take this much money from my paycheck? If it is legal please let me know if it is possible to file for a hardship.

You'll have to contact the child support recovery unit and file for a modification. Alternatively you can do it through the court if you can prove that your income is insufficient.
