Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

insurance

We already cover my stepson and our family on hubby's insurance through his work. no problem, we are not trying to get this stopped.

My real question is would it be possible to get a court order to include covering his mother under hubby's insurance through his employer? If we are able to get the court order would the workplace have to provide it through his family coverage? Insurance is not available through her work, nor could she afford it if she wanted to. We know her medical bills are causing her financial stress and we are getting ready to sit down at a mediation session to establish paternity, child support and visitation we want to put this in but don't know if it is legally possible.(everything is agred upon by both parties just want it set in writing through court for in case something happens later)

Re: insurance

On what legal basis should his employer be compelled to provide insurance coverage to a person who is not a family member? I do not think you will be successful.
