Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

Iowa- single mother with 4 children from someone other then who this mother is dating is considering marrying a person who is on iowa sex offender list. 1 of her children is severely disabled; paralyzed from waist down, will never be able to talk, etc. What consequences might this women face? Is there anyway she would lose custody of her children from doing this?

Allowing a registered sex offender to have access to children is per se child endangerment and must be reported. Not to mention it's an appalling lack of judgment as well. See, http://dhs.iowa.gov/sites/default/files/17-B4_T16.pdf
