Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

Joint Custody

Could you please inform me if a parent of joint custody keeps the identity of the children hidden for over forty eight hours, after the other parent has tried numerous times to talk to the children and can not find out the whereabouts of the children? Could you briefly explain and point any such cases where the eyes of the court have changed in dealing with matters of giving the father custody? Thank you.

Re: Joint Custody

Florida Law - The best interests of the child is always considered. The judge will review the case to determine which parent the child should reside with looking at whether it would be best for the child. If a parent conceals a child from the other parent than an action can be filed Modifying Custody and informing the judge of this. Maybe the child should not reside with that parent if they are keeping the child from the other parent. That is not in the best interest of the child, assuming that the other parent is a loving, caring parent.
