Legal Aid conflict of interest

A friends' husband has gained the use of Legal Aid even though he does not have a need for it,but the wife certainly does. She was told there was a conflict of interest and should get a lawyer elsewhere. Where, without a $5000 retainer that is required?

She should contact the Drake legal clinic. the U of Iowa legal clinic or the Bar association volunteer lawyer's project.
