Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa
I live in Iowa and I'm in what seems to be checkmate.
I have an 18 year old son who is still attending high school. As a sideline I believe he is dealing marijuana out of my house. Naturally, I want this to stop right away. When I confront him, he basically says "F You," or "You're paranoid". He had a friend come here the other day, stay for about five minutes and leave. I watched him get into his car in front of my house and hold a bag of weed up in front of the window and shake it. I was very angry and scared that my house will be raided at some point.
I want to boot him out, but according to Iowa law, if he is under 19 and still in school, I'm stuck with him. The cops told me that when I called them about something else.
I don't know if I should turn him in and take a chance on being SWAT teamed or file an eviction, or what? I feel like I'm in checkmate by him and I don't like it.

You've got a problem on your hands. Any course of action you take could precipitate a crisis and you may be wrong about this. on the other hand if he is dealing and the stash is in your house, you could become implicated. It's your house, though, and he has to live by your rule, but having said that, I would most definitely not want to know or try to find out if he has contraband in the house and where it is located. If things go to hell, the less you know about his activities the better for you.
