Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa
I live in Iowa and my divorce was final in January of this year granting my ex-wife and I joint physical and joint legal custody of our four children. Since the entry of the decree DHS has been called on her twice and the most recent time they determined that physical abuse had occured from my ex-wife to my daughter. My ex-wife also just moved in with her boyfriend who has a felony record for burglary and substance abuse. My question is: do I have grounds to modify the custody order and get full custody of my kids? Thank you

I think you do, particularly if there is a CINA case working. You can argue that the changes are adverse to the childrens' welfare and are of a permanent nature not contemplated when the decree was first made. Hire an attorney and make it happen.
