Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

First, we live in Iowa

Child protective services came to our house on WEd. I asked the lady to make an appt. and she said I had to let her in or she would call the sheriff. I was so surprised by the knock on the door that I didn't think I had a right to deny her entrance into my home. Now that she has been in can I stop her from coming back in 2 weeks like she requested? She didn't get to see 2 of my children. She also claimed that our house was too cluttered.

Please help

You don't have a right to deny access in a child protective investigation. In any report of child endangerment or suspected abuse, DHS is required-required! to investigate and conclude a report in 20 days or less.

If you think you're being pushed around I suggest you google "Shelby Duis". There you will find all the information you need to gain a better understanding of what's involved.

Your best strategy to deal with this is comply with every request that DHS makes with a good heart.
