Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

I was married in Scotts Bluff County Nebraska in 1995. I am now a resident of Pottawattamie County Iowa, and my husband is still a resident of Scotts Bluff County Nebraska. I wish to file for a divorce, which will be a simple, uncontested proceeding with no property nor custody involved.

However, I do not wish to travel to Scotts Bluff to handle this. Can I file for divorce in Iowa or in another County in Nebraska (Douglas County is closest to me)?

If you've been in Pot county for a year you can file here in Iowa and it's a fairly simple and straightforward process. Your choices are either here or in Scottsbluff, so if it was me I'd wait until I had that year's residency and then file close to home.
