Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

not married/with children

My boyfriend and I have been living together for 11 years, we have an 8 year old daughter together. I pay for most of her care including medical coverage and medical bills, etc. We both have good jobs. He wants to be able to claim her on his tax's every other year. Do I have to let him do this? When kaci was born he wouldn't sign anything stating he was the father. I gave her his last name. What are my rights, and what are his. Thank you for your advice in advance.

Re: not married/with children

You don't HAVE to do anything but he is long past the point that he can contest paternity.

On the other hand if he does not wish to acknowledge her as his child and provide a reasonable share of her support why should he benefit from it?
