Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

Medical Support

My original court decree from 1993 states that my ex and I will each pay half for out of pocket medical expenses. There was on order modifying the child support in 2005 which states the following ''The provisions for medical support, if any, set or reserved by the controlling order are unchanged by this order. If uncovered medical expenses for the child(ren) exceed $250 per year for one child or $500 per year for two or more children, the obligor shall pay 46% of the excess cost as provided by the Iowa Supreme Court Guidelines.'' My ex says that we still must abide by the original court decree with each of us paying half. I disagree since it states the amounts to be paid. Who is correct?

Re: Medical Support

Your ex wife is right. All this refers to is uncovered medical expenses and how those are paid for.
