Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

mentally ill husband

My husband is severely depressed with 3 attempted suicides (2 documented) in the past 3 months. He is court ordered to therapy and to take medication, and is currently hospitalized for attempting on Friday. He has a history of Depression and suicide attempts for close to 20 years (since he was 13, he is now 32)

His family has been telling him to leave the state as soon as he gets out of the hospital, to refuse to take any medications, and numerous other things directly against the court and common sense.

Is there anything I can do to prevent them from coming around him for several months until he is well enough (stable enough) to not listen to these things?

I am very worried that this pattern will continue where they encourage (demand) him to stop his meds and he makes another attempt and never gets better, or, worse yet, succeeds.

thank you for your help

Re: mentally ill husband

Legally there's not much you can do unless you can establish a guardianship and go to court for a no contact order.
