Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

Moving out.

I am 5 months from being 18. I have been living with my sister since about 10 years old when our mother pasted away. She has always had a very tight leash on me and ive always been a good kid. I am going to be a senior in high school, always gotten good grades, have had a job since ive been 14 and paid for all my own things.

I was wondering if i have a friend and her dad who will let me live with them which are very good people if that was possible in the state of iowa since i am very close to 18 and is their much she can do about it?? Ive practically already taken care of myself, and i am a very straight narrowed girl. Shes very unrealistic about things and i think i just need to learn how to do things on my own and make decisions for myself. Can you help me out??

Re: Moving out.

You're not 18. Mom rules. End of story.
