Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

Moving across state lines

My ex and I have joint legal custody of our children. We live 20 miles from the state border. I will be getting married and moving 2 miles over the state line. My ex is having a fit. Can he prevent me from moving?? I thought that I just had to stay within 150 miles of him, regardless of state lines. Please help!!
