Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa
He doesn't think he owes me anything
My ex husband owns his owns his own business with his girlfriend of 16 years. He owes back child support and won't pay it, CSR keeps sending papers for his business to garnish his wages, but they just send them back. My daughter is now 18 and is living at his house, but no motification of our decree has been made. Does he still owe me child support like the decree says and how can I get him to pay the back that he also owes? My decree says he is to pay me child support until she is 19. I wrote off $11,000 3 years ago, because my daughter lived with him for 2 years and I thought I was playing fair, but he won't pay and he thinks he doesn't have to. Child Support says they have a 2 year waiting list for filing contemp of court for him. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks

Re: He doesn't think he owes me anything
The only way for you to get anything out of this deal is for the CSRU to pursue it or for you to obtain your own attorney to pursue it.+
The only way that you are going to recover anythinmg is for CSRU to take him to court or to hire your own attorney and enforce the decree through the courts.
