Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa
I have a question regarding custody. I am the mother of my 9 month old daughter and i am having issues with her father and were no longer able to work it out. If he gives up his rights does he still have to pay child support? He keeps talking about giving up his rights or try to prove hes an unfit parent in order for him not to have anything to do with her or us.

It's a little more complicated than that. Parental rights come with obligations and you can't dump them like an old television set.
You could file to have his parental rights terminated under Iowa Code chapter 600 but you'd have to prove desertion.
Is there a custody and support order in place or an order on temporary matters, or a child support recovery unit order of support?
