Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

I recently moved to Iowa. It takes one year of residency to file a divorce in this state. I am seperated from my wife. It is not an legal seperation. We have not seen each otherr or talked for 3 years. I keep getting hit with her bills she does not want to pay. They are coming out of Nevada. Is there any way to stop the bill collectors.

The answer is no, but if the bills are not being posted on what were joint accounts, you're probably OK-but they'll still likely sue you.

I've just got to ask why you have not taken care of this before now?
