Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

I have been in a relationship for 12 years and now I have been told to move out. Do I have a right to half of everything and is there a common law in Iowa.

Being in a relationship is not the same thing as a common law marriage. You would have to go to court to prove that you were a common law spouse. Even if you were married you would not be entitled to "half of everything" because Iowa is an equitable distribution state.
