Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

This is for research purposes. Please bear with me. A is a 21-years old female in Iowa. Her parents had taken a mortgage on their house. They died before they could make any payments on the mortgage. A has no job and is left with a 3-year old brother. For purposes of my story, is it possible that the bank seizes the house (leaving A & her brother homeless)? Also, is it possible that A's brother is given into foster care because she cannot provide for him currently? They have no next of kin listed who can take the child in.
