Returning adopted child to birth parents

What legal issues must we consider? After 10 years we are returning a 14-yr-old to his birth parents who live in another state. It is a mutual decision and birth parents have agreed. Our son has had previous visits with his birth parents.

You're going to have to have a court order to give custody to other people.
