Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

I am Seperated And getting a settlement

I have been seperated for about a year and a half. I live in Iowa and he lives with a lady and her kids in North Dakota. I was wondering since I got injured at work after we were already seperated does he have a right to half or any of my settlement?

There is no such thing as a legal separation in Iowa. If you're still married it is an asset acquired during the course of the marriage.
