Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

why can't i see my son

I just had a baby on Jan 17th of this year and now the mother says I have no right to him. However if I do want to see him I must go to house on her terms whenever convenient for her. I quess my question is can she legally do this or do I have rights.

Unless you have some sort of legal agreement in place that defines your rights and responsibilities you can't insist on visitation or any other incident of parenthood or enforce it.

To start with you have not said if you are married. Further, you have not said whether you have stepped up to the paternity plate or are under a support order. These are major considerations that a court will want to hear about when you go to plead your case.
