Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa
My son is 7 yrs. old he has money set up in a conservetorship. The money will be released when he turns 18 yrs. old. and other times, thourghout his lifetime. At that time he will be in charge. I had set up an attorney to be his conservator. Was told I could change this once the court hearing was over. They said it would look better if this person was in place, that it would not look as if I was trying to get a hold of his money. So for me the problem is this man gets paid $800 every September to write out three checks. 1 to the city to pay property tax on our house, 1 to the home insurance, and 1 to me of what is left. This is suspose to help on upkeep of the house. I want to switch this job of the conservetor to a family member who will write these same 3 checks for free. So my question is, "how do I change from the current conservetor to another one?"

Maybe what you need to do is to file a motion in the probate court to change the conservator or trustee, making sure that you've properly served all interested parties. If there's a court order appointing a certain person, then that's what you're going to have to do to change things to your liking.
