Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

My spouse and I are entering into a guardianship arrangement for our 15 year old grandson. His parents are in agreement that this is the best thing for him. Question... His parents currently have Medicaid coverage for him in the state of Iowa where we all live. Will he lose that coverage due to the custody change? Can we apply for the same coverage for him? Would it be possible to put him on our employer provided policy? Any help would be appreciated...Thank You
