Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

my stepmother recently abandoned my father who is 73 yrs old currently in an out of state nursing rehab for heart issues, they have a joint checking account where his SS checks are deposited. How can I redirect his SS checks. She has his drivers license, SS card, current banking, and all other information I need and wont turn it over to me. What are my best options? Representative payee, joint account power of attorney? Thank you for any input

Unless your dad agrees with you and is willing to give you control over his finances, the answer is, you can do nothing.
