can i stop him from spending our money

my husband left on aug.4 for a younger women he had been seeing for a while unknown to me.I get $300 a week for houshold and ou 13 year old.He has all the control of our business and moneies as always.Now he is spending like wild, trips, jewelry, her a rented home,etc.I have to ask for every dime and show where it went.Can I stop him from spending all our hard earned money,he is very smart he has moved money around.my lawyer says sit tight but it is hard to have to start all over again.
