Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

I am wondering my son signed a paper stating that he gives so and so his daughter to care for until he is done with treatment a legal paper if just the 2 parties or even just he signed it or does it need to be notirized to be legal?

Notarizing a document is not a magic wand that makes a document "legal." Often, all it amounts to is verifying the identity of the person signing. The content of the document is what matters most, and without reviewing that document, it is impossible to answer your question.
