Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Iowa

accidental death of my father

When I was 17 (I'm 32 now), my father was trimming trees in our front yard, came into contact with a power line and died shortly after. I realize there is a time frame to file, but is there any action I can now take? At the time I did not realize how badly this would affect me for the rest of my life. I think about the event daily and am taking anti-depression meds. I feel like it has held me back in many areas of life.

I would doubt it but realistically you'd need to sit down with an attorney to discuss the facts. Questions like who would you sue and for breaching what duty would have to be explored. This isn't the type of legal question easily answered, especially not on this forum.
