Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Iowa

what can i do if my attorney file a cps appeal the the appeals court in Iowa and the return answer was Filed on march 11th 2011 but I was not send the appeal answer until may 10 2011..I was told i only had 15 days after the appeal was filed to re-appeal. What can i do? I want to appeal to the supreme courts??

Without knowing what the appeal was about I couldn't say for sure.

If it is a termination of parental rights, the time for response is very short. An application for further review of a termination appeal to the Iowa Supreme Court is permitted under Iowa R. App. P. 6.1103, but in that case all you get is ten days from the date the court of appeals decision is filed, or in other cases 20 days. Bear in mind that the rule says "filed" not "when you receive a copy".

Despite that, you might try presenting a pro se petition for further review. It can't hurt.
