Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Iowa

I am curious as to whether or not I should into proceeding with a lawsuit against my daughter's school. We have just found out that she has been terrorized by another student for the better part of the school year. Physical assault, verbal assault, death threats, threats to bring a gun to school and shoot her, etc. We have also been made aware that the student that has been harrassing our daughter has anger issues and relies on medication to control his problems. My daughter had told three different teachers about the abuse and different times and not one of the teachers bothered to investigate the claim nor did they report this even though they are considered mandatory reporters. We worked this problem with the principal and the dean of students and while they assured us that the problem would be addressed the boy was not even suspended after admitting to everything. We are concerned that our daughter's safety is being swept under the rug.

You'd have to hire a lawyer and prove everything you allege. That costs money, a lot of it.
