Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Iowa

Investigator lies, and shares my personnel file with fellow employees and I lose

I was working at a group home for teens. A female resident madee allegations and an investigation took place. The investigator lied, the rest of the iowa dhs system failed to review the case. Now a year and a half later they are basically dropping everything. I have lost my job as a teacher, coach, my name has been dragged through the mud, and through all of this discussed my personnel file with my fellow emolyees which they will admit to. I want to know if I can file a lawsuit agianst the dhs system and try to get back what they took from me?
