Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Iowa

Utma

I had a mutual fund where my mother was the custodian. My step-father told her to withdraw the money and give it to him, or he was going to kick her out of the house. I was 23 at the time of the occurance. According to UTMA, at that time, I was the only one legally entitled to do anything with the funds. My step-father is refusing to give the money back, saying it is his money, and that my mom made the mistake of listening to him and taking the money out. I am planning to take legal recourse, but is there any way that I can go after him for the money? She withdrew it from the fund, and gave it directly to him. If you need more information regarding this, please feel free to contact me at the email address listed below. Thank you.

It appears from the little I know that you have a case, but economic feasibility is another thing. So I must ask, how much was in the fund? Steve Lombardi
