Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Iowa
I wanted to tell you what happened today from the beginning. As I was going thru my tools I found a packing slip invoice taped too one of the tool chest. I took that packing list into the building materials and asked S**** for the original receipt for submitting for warrantees on my drill press and sanders. He said no problem and gave me the original receipt. I looked at receipt and noticed that the miter saw stand for 159.99 was now 129.99 and the portable tool chest $49.99 was now 44.98. I then went and asked about having the prices matched and returned for store credit. Credit was issued for 24.99. I then asked how they got 24.99 when it should be more around $36.00. S**** was then called up and told me that they could not be returned for store credit they would have to be returned to n***** account. I then told her okay Ill just talk to G**** about it later and asked for the receipt, she then told me shes not going to return the paperwork too me then ran off. Then about 30-or 45 minutes later of waiting she started calling people on the phone. She then called up L**** the assistant manager after I asked to speak with t*** THE GENERAL MANAGER and still they refused to return my receipts. Then after about 10 minutes of arguing I was acquised of stealing the paperwork and tools and told them I would call the police if they did not return the documents, which they still refused. So I called the police, no one at M****** called police it was me.
I spend over $20,000 annually at M****** thru my business, and pay 29.9% interest and they treat me like some punk kid. I do plan to collect police report and formally complain to M****** HQ.
do i have a case to sue this business for theft of documents
