Legal Question in Immigration Law in Iowa
transferrring status from h1 to b2
hi
i got laid off recently..but my employers say that, they should able to rehire me after 4 months..so,if i
convert to b2 visitor visa now,is it possible for me to get back to h1b visa with the same employer again after 3months,when they are ready to rehire me...do they need to refile my h1b again at that time...
what are the possibilities that my change of status from b2 to h1 will be approved?

Re: transferrring status from h1 to b2
The chances of the B2 being approved is fairly low given the situation. A better option would be to find a new employer, even for part time work, to maintain H1b status. That would require the new employer to file an H1b petition for you, but would allow the most flexibilty as to maintaining status with the former employer should you be able to return to work with them in the near future.
