Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Iowa
I let a friend borrow my laptop and now he refuses to give it back. Do I have the option to sue him for the item or the money? It was understood that he would return the computer to me when his was fixed by both of us. I live in Iowa and this person lives in Ohio.

As a Franchise Attorney I can say the following. You can probably sue for either the return of your laptop, or its fair market value. Most likely you will use small claims court, but diversity (both of you live in different states) is an issue to research. You local small claims court has advisers that will answer your questions. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
