Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Iowa
My son made a drawing that looks like a celebrity photo he got online. Can he put his work on a t-shirt and legally sell it?

I see two problems right out of the gate: 1. The drawing sounds like it is based on someone else's work which might violate the photographer's copyright; and 2. He would likely be violating the celebrity's right of publicity, i.e. his or her right to control use of his or her image.
